Will every tooth in a child’s mouth fall out when they grow up?
Deciduous teeth, except for one tooth, resorb and fall out spontaneously until the permanent dentition. There is no need to have it taken unless there is a problem. Although there are exceptions, permanent dentition usually begins around the age of 6 and continues until the age of 13-14. But 1. molars (wisdom teeth) are formed in the mouth at the age of 6 and are permanent. It is not a milk tooth.
Is It Necessary to Have Milk Teeth Removed?
They usually fall off spontaneously; however, it may be decided to remove them after examination by a physician. Sometimes the cause can also be caries. The aim is to preserve the underlying tooth germ. It is imperative to take precautions as early loss of milk teeth can cause serious disorders in the oral structure.
This is where placeholders come in.
They both protect the space where the permanent tooth will erupt;
and prevent cavities that may occur in the teeth after orthodontic movements.
How Often is a Pedodontist Examination Necessary?
A pediatric dentist examination every 6 months, especially during the milk and mixed dentition period, protects our patients to a great extent. With preventive applications, the patient will benefit for a lifetime without the need for invasive treatment.
